Through spring 2018 I will be teaching music for pre-service students who aim at working in the kindergarden. All of a sudden my archived redcordings of the children choir at our local community became relevant. As are the eary recordigs I made with my own three children at an early age. These recordings serve as examples of repertoire which young children are capable of learning and performing. Below follows a list of great children performances:
“Fru Olsen”. This is a melody by Eldbjørg Raknes and Ståle Storløkken set to a children poem by Haldis Moren Vesaas. Here performed by a 4 year old girl.
“Skip to my lou”. An English name song performed solo by a four year old girl.
A rhyme tune. This is a live recording of a local children choir led by a trained music teacher.
“Hei og velkommen” – this is a popular welcome song used to start each session with the children’s choir.
“Fru Olsen” – the same song as performed solo above, here in a version sung live by the children’s choir.
“Det var en ku som var sjalu” – this is another rhyme song which invites the participating children to suggest words.
“Loppa og lusa”. This is a rhyme which is popular among children.
“Olle Bolle” – a rhyme
“Ellinga” – a rhyme
“Du har noe ingen andre har”. A supportive song celebrating the uniqueness of each individual.
